She was a singer, performer and designer who broke through the barriers of the world of music. She was a an American-Mexican traditional star who bound together both genres with a unique approach. She also provided incredible Tejano music to a mainstream audience. It was her sudden death that destroyed her image. That's what happens to a lot of stars who die far too young. Her fans are working even harder in an effort to not forget what she has achieved. Selena's shooting death sparked emotions in the Latino culture that can be similar to Elvis Presley, and John Lennon. Selena was an extremely well-known Latino singer throughout North America. Her music transcended the boundaries of culture and brought joy to younger and more mature adults. Selena, who was hot and flamboyant stage performer who is sometimes referred to as Latina Madonna was a model offstage. Selena was also active in anti-drug initiatives.
