Kim Delaney has won Emmy Awards for her role as the character Detective Diane Russell. Kim Delaney is known for playing Detective Diane Russell in ABC's series NYPD Blue. She also appeared on the drama show All My Children Philly, CSI: Miami, and Army Wives. Delaney was the sole child of a United Auto Workers senior executive as well as a domestic worker was raised by her four brothers and sisters. When she was a kid, Delaney dreamed of becoming an official reporter for the court. The first time she began modeling was in highschool and eventually gained commercial opportunities when she relocated from the south of England to New York. In 2005, the actress was denied custody over her only son.
